    To get to The Western, we recommend you follow these directions: Coming from Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Shannon follow the road signs for Galway. As you approach Galway follow the city centre signs and continue towards Eyre Square. We are located 100 yards before you reach Eyre Square on your right hand side. To enter our car park take the last right-hand turn before The Western, then two sharp lefts will bring you straight to us.

    Guarantee to valid form of payment is required at booking. A deposit of 10 Percent of Stay is required at booking.

    Cancellation Policy
    Cancel 1 day prior to arrival date to avoid penalty of 1 Nights Room Charge.

  • The Western Hotel provides the ideal base from which to explore Galway and the West of Ireland. Step out of our doors and into the bustling activity and the vivid and enchanting colours of Eyre Square, Shop Street and Quay Street. Take in a show at the Black Box, An Taibhdhearc or the world-famous Druid theatre. Visit Galway in June for the Salthill Air Show with heart-stopping aerobatic displays played out against the breathtaking back-drop of Galway Bay. July brings to Galway the internationally acclaimed Arts Festival - two weeks of colourful street and theatre entertainment including the must-see Macnas parade. At the end of July its the famous Galway Races - a week that has to be experienced to be believed. September hosts the Clarinbridge Oyster, while October sees the Galway International Oyster Festival and the Ballinasloe Horse Fair and Festival.
