Nicknamed the Chrysanthemum City, Zhongshan is located in southern Chinas Guangdong Province in the Pearl River Delta. Boasting a rich cultural heritage, the city is defined by beautiful parks, wide streets, diverse attractions, and delicious cuisine. The Sheraton Zhongshan Hotel is conveniently located in the citys Central Business District. Part of a multiuse complex, we are just steps from dining, entertainment, and shopping. Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is 90 minutes away: 70 minutes by ferry, then 20 minutes by car. Macau Airport (MFM), Shenzhen Baoan International Airport (SZX), Baiyun International Airport (CAN), Zhuhai Airport (ZUH), and Fuoshan Airport (FUO) are each an approximate 90-minute drive from the hotel. Take a short stroll and discover Sun Wen Xi Road. The citys most picturesque pedestrian street, it is lined with dozens of restored buildings and shops. Top shopping bazzars are also within walking distance, or explore some of Zhongshans historical attractions. Several are devoted to the citys namesake Sun Yat-sen, who is regarded by many Chinese as the father of modern China. Stop by his former residence for a personal look into his past or visit the San Yat-sen Memorial Hall for insight into the leaders accomplishments. For a glimpse of the citys creative side, wander around the famed Zhongshan Art Museum in Qijiang Park, a unique horticultural park built on the original site of the Guangdong Shipyard. Nearby, Fufeng Pagoda offers spiritual enrichment. Constructed in 1608, the seven-storey pagoda sits on a hill in Zhongshan Park and is visible throughout the city. For a different but equally exhilerating outdoor experience, visit Zhongshan Hot Spring, an area built to resemble a Chinese imperial garden with walkways, pavilions, rocks, and lush vegetation.
