There is so much to do in Bangkok! Called the Venice of the East due to its elaborate network of canals called klong, transportation in Bangkok was once done mostly by boat. For a different take on the city, take a boat ride down the Chao Phraya River or along a canal and view the floating markets. Also called the City of Angels , Bangkok is home to hundreds of temples or wat, more than any other city in Thailand. The Emerald Buddha is considered the most important temple in Thailand and is located within The Grand Place, Bangkoks biggest tourist attraction and once the Kings offic and home until 1946.
