Set in the stunning Tuscan countryside, in the Chianti region, the resort is surrounded by wheat fields, long rows of cypresses, vineyards and olive groves, a perfect haven in this beautiful corner of Italy, just 23 km from the center of Siena. The 74 rooms are distributed around the charming piazza of the village and in the ancient stone buildings nearby. All the rooms and suites pay homage to the rustic elegance and harmony of the ancient walls. The restoration project has preserved the charm of the Tuscan residences, adding elements of contemporary design, with full respect for the local culture and paying particular attention to the environment. The villa, immersed in greenery, enjoys a spectacular view of the medieval village. In keeping with the Tuscan food and wine culture are the two restaurants: the gourmet restaurant Contrada, for a sophisticated gastronomic experience tasting Tuscan cuisine interpreted by our Chef together with world-famous Gordon Ramsay. The wine cellar, La Cantina, holds the best Tuscan and Chianti wines produced in the region and in the vineyards surrounding Castel Monastero and guests can sample the local specialties. The SPA at Castel Monastero is the perfect place to unwind and relax. With its 1,000 square metres guests may choose from a series of programs and treatment, complemented by innovative and exclusive lines. Exclusive to Castel Monastero are the weight loss and detox programs created by leading nutritionists. The SPA experience is enhanced by the indoor water area featuring sauna, Hammam, emotional showers and two indoor pools, of which one with an exclusive patent featuring water with a high saline concentration. Vineyards, wheat fields, chestnuts forests and long rows of cypresses is the world renowned setting which surrounds the hotel. This beautifully restored XI century monastery and village is just 23 km from Siena, the nearest city to the hotel. The small charming town of Castelnuovo Berardenga is also in the vicinity, just 8 km from the hotel. The hotel is easily accessible as it is just 2 km from the expressway to Siena, Florence and Perugia. The nearest airport is Florence International airport, which is 95 km from the hotel. Pisa airport, which from May to October offers a direct Delta flight from New York, is 153 Km. Rome Fiumicino airport is 250 km. from the hotel

Here guests can have a sophisticated gastronomic experience with the creations of our Resident chef together with world-famous Gordon Ramsay La Cantina  An evocative setting with a relaxed atmosphere. In the medieval wine cellar of Castel Monastero, La Cantina is a delightful restaurant serving Tuscan cuisine and the best local specialties. The architecture, with its high vaulted ceilings and visible ston Bar  The Bar at Castel Monastero, adjacent to the lobby area, is the ideal setting to enjoy tea in the afternoon or drinks before dinner. The Library lounge offers a warm and cozy retreat to enjoy your favourite book. During summer the Bar opens on to the Pool Bar  The Pool bar is operational from 1st June to 31st August. During the opening hours of the pool (from 10 am to 7 pm), guests can enjoy drinks at the bar or by the pool. At lunch time, light snacks and sandwiches are served.
