Just outside the fortress entrance begins the path that follows the ocean for an invigorating walk or bike ride along the unspoiled coastline. Sailing, fishing, diving and water sports are provided upon request as well as golf, mountain trekking and other nature and sports activities. Cascais is also famous for its numerous small but excellent museums, mostly located around the hotel, and varied music festivals throughout the year. The village of Sintra, a World Heritage site famous for its gorgeous palaces and landscape is only 20 minutes away as well as the countrys capital, Lisbon, one of Europes most exciting cities.

    Maris Stella  Its the name of one of the Portuguese royal family sailboats, this one special because was offered in 1905 by the King D. Carlos I to his wife, Queen Amelia. The view over the marina of Cascais, the proximity to the sea gives the tone for a menu that Taberna da Praca  The Taberna da Praca restaurant in Praca das Armas square serves typical Portuguese cuisine snacks made with national products in small portions so you can enjoy the vast variety of flavors.
