Property Description
Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is the only hotel located within the Iguassu National Park - with the world famous Iguassu Falls just a two minute walk from the Hotel. Guests at Belmond Hotel das Cataratas are able to enjoy exclusive access to the falls each morning before the park opens. Accessible from the Hotel are a range of experiences within this spectacular region - including helicopter flights - rafting - nature walks - jeep safaris and a visit to the bird park. There are 19 large waterfalls - but only three on the Brazilian side. Most of the falls are on the Argentinian side and face Brazil - presenting better views from the Brazilian side where Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is located. The Hotel features a large swimming pool and smaller childrens pool and is surrounded by tropical gardens. Facilities include two restaurants - two bars - three meeting rooms – a business center - exercise room - full service spa - tennis court and complimentary wireless Internet access in all public areas and accommodations. The Itaipu Restaurant offers a selection of both traditional Brazilian and international cuisine. Services include 24-hour room service and concierge. Luxurious accommodations include 178 guestrooms and 15 suites. All are decorated in a Portuguese style featuring paintings of the local flora and fauna by Brazilian artist Ludmilla de Montes. Rooms also feature traditional painted tiles designed exclusively for Belmond Hotel das Cataratas - as well as beautiful polished hardwood floors. Views are of either the National Parks lush tropical forest or the hotels manicured central garden. A few select rooms and suites offer views of the falls. Amenities in all accommodations include air-conditioning - widescreen high-definition LCD televisions - complimentary wireless Internet access - IDD phones and bedside controls. Full buffet breakfast is included with all published rates.

As the only hotel within the national park - hotel guests are able to enjoy exclusive access to the falls each morning before the park opens. The Iguassu Falls are a breathtaking collection of 275 waterfalls - extending over almost 3 kilometers in an enormous canyon on the Iguassu River. Accessible from the Hotel are a range of experiences within this spectacular region - including helicopter flights - rafting - nature walks - jeep safaris and a visit to the bird park. There are 19 large waterfalls - but only three on the Brazilian side. Most of the falls are on the Argentinian side and face Brazil - thus presenting better views from the Brazilian side. The belvederes scattered on the tracks of Cataratas allow visitors to contemplate the natural beauty from many angles. Cataratas do Iguassu is located inside the Iguassu National Park and is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

    • Iguacu National Park shares with the adjacent Iguazu National Park in Argentina one of the worlds largest and most impressive waterfalls - 70 metres high and 2700 meters wide - within a remnant of highly endangered Atlantic forest.
