This 2 story wooden ryokan has Japanese-style guest rooms. From some of the rooms/ guests can enjoy the view of Hiiiragiya Ryokan s Japanese garden. This ryokan has family baths where you can reserve some private time in the public bath.
Hiiragiya Ryokan serves the finest Kyoto-style Japanese kaiseki on traditional ceramic pottery and lacquerware.Hiiragiya Ryokan was established in 1818/ and has gained a requtation as one of the most beloved of Japan s traditional ryokan. Under the ownership of the same family for six generations/ Hiiragiya has been host to internationally famous men and women-writers/ artists/ politicians/ scientists/ and members of the imperial family. Both Nobel Prize winning novelist/ Yasunari Kawabata/ and noted author/ Junichiro Tanizaki/ considered Hiiragiya to be their home away from home.
