Arabic Food Court  Tip: No waiter service. Order from the food displayed on each stall. Prices are very affordable. This is a food court where various stalls offer different kinds of traditional Arabic cuisine including Turkish, Lebanese and Syrian specialities. It looks Najd Village restaurant  Tip: Eat comfortably by removing your shoes, squat like a local and use your hands to eat , washrooms are provided. This Bedouin style restaurant is popular among visitors.   • Tip: The time to get the best prices is from 8pm, after last prayers. This market has an array of handicrafts, antiques and souvenirs unique to Saudi Arabia.

  • Tip: Gold and jewels abound. Each stall has its own price. Be prepared to bargain. Find a selection of gold jewellery, local crafts and souvenirs.
  • Makkah Souk

  • Tip: Go between 7am and 11am to get the most enjoyment out of bargaining. Find a wide variety of local spices, Saudi foods, clothing and jewellery.
  • Shumeishi Area

  • Tip: Within this area are local eateries and refreshment outlets at very affordable prices. This large shopping district sells anything from local to branded products. Open 9-11am and 4-10pm.
  • Vegetable Market

  • Tip: Pictures are not allowed. Take a trip to this local vegetable market which sells all kinds of produce from Saudi Arabia and beyond. The best time to go and absorb the atmosphere is in the morning, from 7am to 11am.
  • Harraj Souk

  • Tip: Thursdays and Fridays are the days to get the best products and prices. This rambling souk covers a large area where you can find all types of merchandise, from clothing to electronics. Bargain prices.

  • Where locals auction their camels on Thursdays and Fridays, from 3pm to 6pm.

  • Take a drive to the souks, just 10 minutes away, for a glimpse of life in medieval times. Here you can find traditional goods from Saudi Arabia.
  • One Hour: The Kingdom

  • Drive to the Kingdom, the tallest building in Riyadh, and enjoy a panoramic view of the City from the Skybridge. If you've still got time afterwards, go to the shopping complex on the ground floor.
  • Two Hours: Faisaliyah Shopping Centre

  • Go to Faisaliyah Shopping Centre, where you can shop for the best local and internationally branded products, then dine at the food court on the second floor.
  • Two Hours: Old Museum

  • Drive to the Old Museum to see military weapons and planes. It's located at the Old Airport, between Exits 8 and 9.
  • Al Salam Park

  • This park has many walking trails and a small lake with boating facilities. It is a 10-minute drive from the hotel, with a nominal entry fee.
  • Prince Sultan University

  • A large green area where you can take a leisurely walk or jog. There are many seating areas within the university's surrounding park.
  • Al Musmak Fortress

  • Tip: Visiting days for men are Saturday, Monday and Wednesday; for women, the remaining days of the week. Nearby is the Al Musmak Fortress, the citadel that Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud captured in 1902 to regain control of the city.
  • Diraiyyah Old City

  • Tip: Start your visit at 2pm so you can tour the whole oasis. The ancient oasis town of Diraiyyah dates from the 15th century and is the spiritual home of the Al Saud family.
  • King Fahd Stadium

  • Tip: Tickets should be booked a day in advance. Saudi Arabia's biggest stadium is where national sporting activities including football and athletics are held. It has a capacity of 80,000.
  • King Saud University Museum

  • Tip: The concierge team can organise a visit. On display are archeological finds from the pre-Islamic sites of Al-Fau and Rabdhah.
  • Souks

  • Tip: The most exciting time to go is from 8pm. No visit to Riyadh would be complete without spending time in its colourful souks.
