The Hotel New Grand will Start renovation of the Main Building. Period;June 1st 2014 to September 30th 2014. -Tankuma-the Japanese restaurant on the 5th floor/ the Starlight banquet room on the 5th floor and the guest rooms in the Main Building will be closed. -The banquet rooms Rainbow and Phoenix on the 2nd floor of the Main Building will only be available for reservations after 18;00 with the exceptions of Saturdays. -Le Normandie-the French Restaurant in the Tower Building will offer restricted menu for lunch and dinner between July 13th and September 3rd. In the long history of the Hotel New Grand-a place that truly represents the international city of Yokohama-we have been honoured to welcome many famous celebrities over the years- including historic figures like Charlie Chaplain-Babe Ruth and General MacArthur-Hotel New Grand consists of two buildings- the main building established in 1927 and a tower building built in 1991-From rooms with luxurious interiors and classic elegance- to stylish rooms in a modern design-you can select the perfect accommodation to make your stay comfortable and memorable- The executive guest rooms at the Tower Building offer traditional and elegant European inspired designed interiors-enriched with amenities of tradition- Front side room has a splendid view of Yokohama Bay and the Yokohama Bay Bridge-which is fantastically illuminated at night-The bay of Yokohama is yours to enjoy from the room-In the Main Building there is a suite called The MacArthur Suite-named after the historic period when General MacArthur established his office during the wartime occupation of Japan-There is also another admired room favoured by the famous Japanese master writer- Jiro Osaragi-There are other suites available with special historical references-Similar to vintage wine-the tastes and elegance of European culture has aged gracefully at our hotel and appreciated by all our guests
