Ponce Plaza Hotel Casino is located at the corner of Reina and Union Street in the downtown area of the city of Ponce Puerto Rico right across the street from the Cathedral. The Hotel has encompasses a unique and diverse concept that intertwines modern style with historical architecture. The historic building dating from 1882 is regulated and protected by the Puerto Rico Institute of Culture. The magnificent structure that houses the historic part of the Hotel was built by its original owner Mr. Francisco Roubert who conducted a group of African slaves in the construction of this invaluable architectural masterpiece which became his family residence for many years. Later in 1912 it becomes the Liceo Ponceo School the first all girls school in Ponce. After many years of use as a commercial property it was purchased by the Muoz family in 2009 and masterfully restored and renovated to what today is known as Ponce Plaza Hotel Casino.
