Property Description
ZAMAS is a small beach cabana hotel with thatch roofs stucco walls in beach-worn hues and vibrant tile dcor. The rustic-chic ambience exudes hammock culture. Muy fuerte margaritas fresh-off-the-boat fish of the day and wood-fired pizzas add to the surreal when served at the open air beachfront restaurant Que Fresco ZAMAS has an eclectic and international clientele of fashion professionals artists and actors families dot-comers and everyone in between. It is a chill hang out spot mixing colorful urban roots with laid back local culture. Situated on a strip of the Riviera Maya in Tulum Mexico ZAMAS spans three acres along the Caribbean coast. Five kilometers to the north are the Tulum Ruins and to the south are forty-five kilometers of beach most of which is within the Sian Kaan Reserve. The hotel sits on a cove with a rock bluff giving the beach one of the rare westward views of sunset over the jungle. Like a swimming pool when the water is calm the cove is surrounded by rock and vegetation which make for good snorkeling. Fifty meters off-shore is a shipwreck where the fish tend to gather. On-shore weathered-wood beach chairs under large palm shades lead to long lazy days. For the active traveler Tulum is an outdoor playground. With one of the worlds largest underground water systems there is excellent cave diving for the experienced and fun cavern excursions for the novice. All diving fishing and snorkeling tours are offered by the on-site Dive Shop at ZAMAS. The Sian Kaan Reserve has premier fly fishing as well as abundant bird watching. Archeological explorations are plentiful with four major Mayan Ruin sites and many outcroppings in the area. Kite surfing is now the Tulum Extreme Sport and paddle-boarding is available for the tame-at-heart. For more refined sports World Class Golf has arrived. Just 10 minutes north of ZAMAS is an excellent course and two other outstanding golf courses are on the coast including one PGA site. In tune wit
