    Located on the private Astir Palace Resort peninsula in Vouliagmeni, the Arion Resort & Spa is nestled in the heart of the Athenian Riviera, surrounded by the crystal-clear blue waters of the Saronic Gulf, which is lined with sandy beaches and palm trees. A natural seaside oasis at the foot of the Hymettus mountain range, it is just a half-hour drive or 25 km from the cosmopolitan city center of Athens and 24 km from the airport. Guests interested in Athens rich culture can explore numerous landmarks and archeological sites while contemporary-minded guests head to nearby Glyfadas prestigious shopping district, where high-end boutiques meet outdoor caf s. Known as the Hellenic Hamptons, it is just ten minutes from the resort and along with Vouliagmeni and Varkiza offers some of the areas most beautiful beaches. The Acropolis, also known as the Sacred Rock of Athens, is the citys most important historical site and dates back to the Middle Neolithic Era. While in the area, dont miss the Theater of Dionysus the oldest theater in the world situated at the base of the Acropolis. Another notable monument is the Temple of Poseidon. Built in the 5th century B.C., it is located in the Cape Sounion area and honors Poseidon, the god of the sea.
