    Belmond Casa De Sierra Nevada is located in San Miguel de Allende - an historic - cultural and artistic town in the mountains of Central Mexico. The Hotel is in the Historic District of town - just one block from the Main Square and within walking distance of local attractions. The town is in the eastern part of Guanajuato in the mountainous Bajio region - a high relatively flat area about 2000 meters above sea level - which is surrounded by even higher mountains. From this elevated location there are beautiful views of distant mountain ranges and lakes. The weather is pleasant and temperate year round so there is an abundance of vegetation including bougainvillea - jacaranda - lush parks - gardens and botanical preserves. San Miguel serves as the administrative seat for the surrounding municipality of Allende - Guanajuato. The city also provides convenient access to other areas of Mexico since it is about 274 kilometers from Mexico City - 97 kilometers from Guanajuato - and 65 kilometers from Queretaro.

  • Atotonilco is considered one of the most remarkable examples of 18th century baroque architecture and art of New Spain. It comprises a large temple - six chapels and the Santa Casa de Loreto. Open daily 0700-2000.
  • San Miguel De Allende Historic Center

  • The town is noted for its streetscapes with narrow cobblestone lanes that rise and fall over the hilly terrain and occasionally defy colonial attempts to make a straight grid. The Historic Center is a wonderful place to explore the citys beautiful architecture and historical sites.
