Deichgraf
Reserve a table by the window with views over the harbour and canal. Cosy restaurant on the harbour set in a former warehouse from the 17th century. It's well known for its relaxed atmosphere. A good place for a quick lunch or a candlelit dinner.
Franziskaner
Reservations recommended. The restaurant is always crowded. A typical Bavarian style restaurant serving authentic Bavarian dishes, and a mainly meat menu. A place to unwind after work.
Gr ninger Brauhaus
There's probably nowhere else in the world where you can have your own barrel of beer on your dining table. Several rooms in the basement make up this original restaurant. The building itself dates back to 1750.

Planetarium
Hamburg is the proud owner of the most modern planetarium in the world. The site is fantastic. It's right in the middle of Hamburg's central park, the Stadtpark. There is a variety of programmes throughout the day.
HighFlyer Balloon
Take a ride above Hamburg in the HighFlyer balloon, which departs from the Deichtorhallen.
Hamburg DOM
The Hamburg DOM offers the biggest funfair in northern Germany. It is situated at the Heiligengeistfeld. The fair hits town three times a year for four weeks. There are lots of rides, including a Ferris wheel, and many other attractions.

Alster Lake
First thing in the morning or after an exhausting day, take a jog around Alster Lake. The 7.5km run takes you through Alster Park, past impressive villas and back to the hotel. Maps are available at the concierge desk.
Johannes Brahms Museum
This famous composer has his own museum in a restored 18th-century red-brick house. Inside, there's a collection of manuscripts and all of Brahms' compositions. Special visiting times can be arranged for groups.
