Since 1913 the Victoria Palace Hotel has been a landmark of the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Located on a quiet street between the bustling Rue de Rennes and the charming, 18th-century rue du Cherche-Midi, the hotel truly is an expression of the Rive gauche. Owned by the same family since 1936, it combines a very Left Bank sense of understated and un-self-conscious luxury with the obvious advantages of a centrally located, residential neighbourhood.From the marble and gold leaf in the lobby to the guest-rooms with their walls covered in stretched fabrics, the hotel appears quintessentially and traditionally Parisian, until one considers the size of the rooms. Strikingly large for the Left Bank, the smallest--known simply as Rooms--start at approximately 25m /260 sq feet whilst over half the Junior Suites and One-Bedroom Suites are 35m /375 sq feet or more. Their marble bathrooms have powerful lights and hair-dryers, high-speed internet access is available in every room wired and wireless the telephones are equipped with voice-mail, every room has a work-desk, etc Needless to say, all the rooms are sound-proofed and air-conditioned ; bathrobes and slippers are provided for all guests. Last but not least, the Victoria Palace Hotel has its very own, private garage.A special touch provided by the hotel are the neighbourhood guides covering local markets, craftsmen, chocolates and general shopping : they focus on a wealth of small, independent shops and artisans most visitors probably would not find on their own. A way of allowing each and every visitor to go home just that little bit more Parisian than he or she arrived. Since October 1st 2012, the Victoria Palace Hotel has been officially rated as a five-star property by the French tourist authority Atout France.

The Victoria Palace Hotel is located in the heart of the Left Bank, in the Cherche-Midi neighbourhood (6th arrondissement). The Cherche-Midi neighbourhood is one of the last predominantly residential neighbourhoods within the historic city centre of Pars and is considered one of the most desirable by wealthy Parisians because of its quaint, almost village-y feel (the 18th century Rue de Cherche-Midi) whilst being within walking distance of the lively but touristy Saint Germain area and famous landmarks such as the Musee d Orsay, the Louvre or even Notre-Dame cathedral. Public transportation is excellent : not only are there many metro stations nearby, but the hotel is located near several bus lines making it possible quickly, easily and inexpensively to get almost anywhere in the city above ground by city bus.In addition to the well-known luxury shops on the Rue de Sevres (Le Bon Marche , Hermes, etc.) there is a wealth of independent, creative boutiques spanning the area which the Victoria Palace Hotel makes a special effort to identify for its guests through its shopping and chocolatier guides. The neighbourhood also offers farmers markets and top-notch food artisans as well as a number of excellent and sensibly-priced restaurants.
