Also known as the Garden City, Vadodara is situated on the banks of Vishwamitri River and is the cultural capital of Gujarat. The Four Points by Sheraton Vadodara is conveniently located in Fateh Gunj, just three kilometres from Vadodara Airport (BDQ) and four kilometres from the railway station.
Explore Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodaras top attraction and the official Royal Family residence. Built in 1890, this extravagant Indo-Saracenic palace has Italian mosaic floors and walls. The complex is also home to the Maharajah Fateh Singh Museum, which houses of a wonderful collection of old armoury as well as bronze, marble, and terracotta sculptures. The Baroda Museum & Picture Gallery nearby contains artwork by both Indian and European artists. Kirti Mandir, or the Temple of Fame, was built in 1936 and features domes, terraces, balconies, and wall paintings.
Take an excursion to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park in Panchmahal. Dating from the 8th to the 14th centuries, it is filled with forts, bastions, palaces, mosques, tombs, temples, and other impressive structures. Nestled on a Pavagadh hilltop, the centuries-old Kalika Mata Temple is also worthy of a visit. Immerse in nature at the Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary in the Baruch district, just a three-hour drive from our hotel. In addition to abundant plant life, it is also home to many animal species, including leopards, sloth bears, sambar, hyenas, barking deer, and a wide variety of birds. Nava Bajar is famous for its handicrafts—particularly camel leather goods and textiles—and Sankheda is known for its lacquer-coated furniture.
In Vadodara, entertaining fun can be found at the S-Cube Water Park. It has many slides, a wave pool, and other attractions. Visitors in October should be sure to attend the massive Navratri festival, filled with lights, singing, and Garba dancing.
