Originally built as a corn mill in 1840 the hotel was moved 54 kilometres to Launceston and was rebuilt as a hotel over 130 years later stone by stone. Penny Royals hotel suites have recently been given a fresh breath of life and are well appointed extremely comfortable and modern while still retaining a unique heritage atmosphere.
